Time Management Tip: Make a List
If you are feeling overwhelmed with all the things you need to do, make a list. It’s a very simple and effective solution to stay peaceful and productive. Follow the quick steps below:
- Pause – Stop what you are doing and focus on the task at hand. We work better when we don’t divide our attention. Remember, 10 minutes of planning can save up to 2 hours of wasted time. Take the time to make the time.
- Put it on Paper – We remember more when we write it down. We accomplish more when we cross things off. Let’s take advantage of that science! Additionally, paper creates boundaries that are similar to our finite time and prevents overbooking or trying to do more than you really have time for.
- Prioritize – As much as we want to accomplish 100 things in a day, we are statistically likely to accomplish 3-5 tasks/projects each day. Ask yourself what the top three things are for your day and focus on those first.
So simple, so effective. If you don’t already have a plan for today, make one. Better yet, start planning every Friday to avoid Sunday Scaries and live better. For more tips on weekly planning read past blog posts or join an event. You can do this!
