Time Management Tip: Use Your Backside

I think we can all agree the best part of the Weekly Planning Sheet is the folding. You can plan your entire week, but focus on one day at a time. You can give it a flip to see what is coming for the following day. It fits in pockets. However, one of the lesser-realized benefits of the folded sheet is the creation of six boxes on the backside of the sheet. This is an amazing benefit to an already awesome tool as it gives you a holding place for additional information pertaining to your week. For anyone who isn’t already using the backside of your sheet, I will share a few ways I have seen it used before.

  • Notes/task list for a specific person or project
  • Grocery list
  • Packing list
  • Meal planning
  • Idea bank for social media, blog ideas, customer engagement, etc.
  • Call list for customers, prospects, employees, etc.
  • Mileage tracking
  • Weekly report notes
  • Ongoing or long-term tasks
  • Doodles
  • Random notes of the week

Above are just some of the ways I have seen the backside of the sheet work wonders for people. If any apply to your life, give them a try! The list is not exhaustive so if you are already using the backside of your sheet in a neat way that isn’t listed above, I’d love to hear from you. One of the best parts about the Origami Day community is helping each other shape our time better for lives of balance. Hope this helps and let’s keep unfolding great tips for work-life balance!
